I am a literature professor and book historian specializing in the long eighteenth century, and the author of The Work of Print: Authorship and the English Text Trades, 1660-1760 (Washington, 2007). I am interested in intellectual property and plagiarism, though my new project focuses on representations of literacy technologies. My professional relationship with digital technology began when I started teaching online classes in 1998. Since that time it has been one of my goals to improve students' technological literacies, so I incorporate digital activities in almost every class. This has had the practical effect of making me disavow theories of "digital natives." I WISH I spent more time on Twitter (really!), but I ACTUALLY spend too much time playing Words with Friends.
